Introduction:
Sylhet division occupies the north east part of Bangladesh, has an area of 12596 sq. km and a population of 7.899 million. It is a natural hilly, forest area with ox bow lakes and famous shrines. It has a magnificent natural beauty. This region consists of large number of tourist spots. These tourist spot has great natural beauty. Every year lot of people comes here to visit these places. Jaflong is one of the nice tourist spot. It contains awesome natural beauty. Its geographic location is so attractive. For its natural beauty it considered as one of the main tourist spot in sylhet and largely in Bangladesh. 

Location: 

Jaflong is a natural tourist spot in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh. It’s about 60 km far from Sylhet town and takes two hours drive to reach there. It is located in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet District and situated at the border between Bangladesh and the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is just below the mountain range.

Natural beauty of Jaflong: 

Jaflong is situated 60 km far away from sylhet city. It is hilly region. It is situated besides the river Mari in the lap of Hill Khashia. The Mari river is coming from the great Himalayas of India, which bringing million tons of stone boulders with its tide. You can watch the stone collection from the river in Jaflong as well as you can enjoy the boating in the river Mari. Zero point of Jaflong is located in this river and it is very much attractive. Tea garden and khasia palli also increase the value of this tourist spot. Sometimes there are water fall also be seen, which increase twice the natural beauty of Jaflong. Jaflong is totally a hilly area of real natural beauty where hills are greenish with the forests.

Natural resource: 

Jaflong has rich collection natural resources. Stone is one of them. Everyday huge amount of stone is extracted from Mari River. But excessive amount of stone extraction is harmful to our natural environment this is the main source of stone, which are used in construction site. There is also a tea garden and it is contribute to our country’s economy.
The forestation program in Jaflong Green Park has been started under supervision of the joint forces, ‘Jaflong Foundation’ and ‘Forest Department’. They have jointly taken up the forestation program with about 100 hectares of grabbed land. Under the forestation program, various types of trees, including hybrid Akash-moni, are being planted in the park to maintain ecological balance. There are different species of flora and fauna are present, which are very important for our natural environment.

Conclusion:
Jaflong is a nice place among other places of the country. Every day lot of tourist visits this place. But day by day this place lost her natural beauty. Excessive extraction of stone also has bad effect on natural environment. Some people, who have lack of aware do some work, which are very harmful to our environment. So our government should take some steps to mitigate this type of problem. Rules and regulations should create for proper management. If these steps will materialize than this place will become more famous travel .
